The clock read 3:07 in the middle of the night
I got out of bed to the glow of Christmas lights
The stockings were all empty, nothing there under the tree
Remorseful realization that there were no gifts for me
A noise rose from the chimney and the embers clearly shone
A boot torn from the ankle filled with bloody flesh and bone
...on Christmas Eve

It climbed out from the chimney with my father’s severed head
It started up the staircase toward my sister’s bed
My mother in the kitchen sadly didn’t have a clue
So I dove behind the sofa before the monster got me too...
My father ripped to pieces...and my sister ripped in two...
My mother, she tried to save them...
...but the monster got her too...
